This Site is offered by Praxia Bank and provides documentation and a sandbox environment for the Open APIs.

This document sets out the terms and conditions (the “Terms) of this Site. These Terms govern your use of this Site together with the provision and use of interface or Data obtained through on or accessed via the Site including the Open APIs.

The registration, access and use to/of the Praxia Bank’s API Platform at https://developers.praxiabank.com including any pertinent tools and/or applications, as made available by Praxia Bank from time to time in its discretion, are also subject to these Terms.

By accessing this Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms so please read these Terms carefully. You also acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms of the Personal Data Protection Policy and Cookies Policy. We may change the content or services found on this Site at any time without prior notice by publishing the revised Terms through the Site. Any such updates will apply at the date that Praxia Bank states that these shall come into force and in any case not earlier than the date on which Praxia Bank posted the revised Terms incorporating such updates. In this context, you agree to revisit this page regularly and your continued access to or use of the Site will mean that you agree to the changes.

Hereby you also agree to comply with all guidelines, technical standards and specifications, rules and other terms and conditions that may be posted by Praxia Bank on the Site or otherwise communicated by Praxia Bank to you, as such items may be updated by Praxia Bank from time to time (the “Additional Terms”); such Additional Terms are hereby incorporated into the following Terms and constitute integral parts of them.    

If you do not agree with these Terms or any other relevant Policy referred herein, including but not limited Personal Data Protection Policy and Cookies Policy, please do not access the Site or use the Open APIs.  

For the avoidance of any doubt, please note that by entering into these Terms you confirm you are acting in a strictly business capacity and not as a “consumer”.



API Content: Any and all of the Open API(s), the API Credentials, the Documentation and any artifacts(s) related to any of the foregoing (including any copies, summaries, specifications, portions, extracts and derivatives thereof, as well as relevant testing facilities) made available by or on behalf of the Praxia Bank to the User pursuant to the Terms or otherwise in connection with the Open API(s).

API Credentials or Token: The unique string of alphanumeric characters identifying each Application and/or third party as a user of an Open API, assigned by Praxia Bank, that is intended to enable them to use such Open API in accordance with the Terms. For the avoidance of doubt, Praxia Bank may assign or decline to assign API Credentials under specific conditions. API Credentials may be subject to activation, suspension and/or deactivation to ensure usage consistent with the Terms and all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.

API Platform: The online system of Praxia Bank for processing and responding to requests from Applications using the Open API(s).

API Services: The service(s) and/or function(s) accessible through or performed by a particular Open API, subject to the Terms identified below.

Application: Any User’s software application that uses any Open API offered by Praxia Bank (e.g., a mobile app or web page which interacts with an API).

Competent Courts: The Courts of Athens 

Confidential Information: All Praxia Bank information labelled confidential or which would be treated as confidential by any reasonable third party.

Data: Any data, content, material(s) and other information (including accompanying metadata) that at any time is transmitted to or from, stored on, or accessible through the API Platform, or is otherwise made available by Praxia Bank to the User in connection with the Open API(s).

Documentation: Any online user guides, software development kit(s), and/or help and training materials for our Open APIs, as updated from time to time, accessible via our Site. Documentation include any software code (other than the API Credentials) that the Praxia Bank may make available for enabling an Application to use such API (for example, code to be embedded in an Application to facilitate communication through such API) as well as any requirements, routines, protocols, tools, parameters, limitations, specifications, documentation related to any Open API, as made available by Praxia Bank pursuant to the Terms and to the applicable legislative and regulatory framework in force.

Governing Law: The Greek Law

Intellectual Property Rights: Any right, title or interest in copyrights, rights in databases, patents, inventions, trademarks, trade names, goodwill, rights in internet domain names and website addresses, designs, know how, trade secrets and other rights in confidential information, whether registered, unregistered or not capable of being registered in any country or jurisdiction including all other rights having equivalent or similar affects which may now or in the future subsist anywhere in the world.    

User(s): End user(s) of an Application including You.

Open API: Any Application Programming Interface of Praxia Bank (that may consist of code, instructions and/or other data and information), as may be made available by Praxia Bank in its discretion, that is intended to permit an application to interface with it in accordance with these Terms.

Praxia Bank: Praxia Bank Société Anonyme which is seated at 24B, Kifisias Avenue, in Maroussi, Attica, GR  151 25. References to “we”, “us” or “our” are references to Praxia Bank.

Sandbox: The test environment website and related materials, information and resources currently located at https://developers.praxiabank.com 

Sandbox Data: The fake, masked, obfuscated, encrypted and/or otherwise incorrect or inactionable test data provided through the Sandbox for use by or in development of Application.

Terms: The terms and conditions set out herein.

You: The person accessing this Site or using the Open APIs available on this Site.  



Your Registration

The API Platform is a discretionary offer by Praxia Bank that allows diligent testing of your Applications before using APIs for real purposes. 

It must be noted, that these Terms will be complementary to what is legally foreseen under Greek Law 4537/2018, Directive (EU) 2015/2366 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25th November 2015 (also known with the abbreviation “PSD 2”) and all underlying or supplemental legislation and regulatory technical standards.

Thereby, we grant you a limited right to access and use the Sandbox, API Content/Services, and Sandbox Data to develop, test, connect with, and support your Application's access and use of API Content/Services under the Terms and in such manner as to keep them free of all claims from any source whatsoever. 

Praxia Bank reserves the right to approve registration demands and may reject your respective application in its discretion without the need to provide any reasons. You agree that you will disclose to Praxia Bank any necessary information required for your registration including any actual or potential conflicts of interest with respect to your access to the API Platform. Any information that you provide in connection with your registration must be correct and complete, and you are responsible for maintaining such information up-to-date and accurate throughout the term of your registration. 

Upon successful registration, you may be provided with API Credentials. You shall access or use an Open API and/or API Content/Services only through API Credentials. Thus, API Credentials are, and will remain, the property of Praxia Bank and you are granted a non-transferable license to use the Credentials for the sole purpose of participating in the API Platform. You must keep API Credentials confidential and may not sell, transfer, sublicense, or otherwise disclose your API Credentials to any other person or for any other purpose, excluding Users who are under your direct disciplinary or organizational control. Please note that you are solely responsible for your access to the Site and for all activities that occur under your API Credentials. If you become aware or of you suspect that the confidentiality of your API Credentials have been compromised, you are obliged to inform Praxia Bank without undue delay. You shall not attempt to circumvent or modify any API Credentials or other security mechanism used by Praxia Bank in connection with the API Platform.  



Limitation of Use

Praxia Bank reserves the right to limit access to and/or use of the API Platform by various means and using various criteria, including, but not limited to, by restricting the volume of access requests, uses, services, functions, data and/or any other form of API Content. When Praxia Bank communicates the User of such limitations, then the User shall be obligated to comply with them. 

Under no circumstances you cannot revise, change, modify or alter API Services (or its appearance) to render the API Services unfair, deceptive, abusive, false or misleading. If the API Services includes hyperlinks to our Site, the Application must use the complete, unaltered URL as the HREF or comparable functional link for proper tracking and functionality. 

User will diligently correct any material bugs or faults in his Application that cause it to incorrectly access the Open API or in any way affect the functionality or performance of any API Content, the API Platform, or any website, product or service of Praxia Bank; otherwise Praxia Bank reserves the right to revoke/nullify API Credentials granted to User. Promptly upon request, you agree to provide us reasonable access to your Application, documents, information, employees, subcontractors, and your third-party agents. 




We grant you a royalty-free, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Open API(s) to develop, test, connect with, and support your Application for your benefit.

Use of an Open API and/or API Content/Services is subject to reasonable information security policies and procedures, including but not limited to OTP procedures, which may not be fully disclosed and may vary from time to time. When accessing or using an Open API and/or API Content/Services under these Terms, you are prohibited to conduct and to engage in any of the following activities:

  1. distribute, disclose, publish, market, sell, rent, lease, sublicense or assign to any third party any API Credentials to which you have access under these Terms unless otherwise specifically authorized under the Terms; 
  2. use any robot, spider, retrieval application, or other automated functionality to retrieve or index any portion of our data, products, or services for any unauthorized purpose;
  3. represent to any third party that simulated transactions conducted using any Open API, API Content/Services, Sandbox and/or Sandbox Data to which you have access under these Terms are real;
  4. use it in connection with an Application that is offensive, abusive, libelous, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, vulgar, pornographic, unethical, unlawful (or that promotes unlawful behavior), or that is otherwise inappropriate as determined by us in our sole discretion;
  5. use any Open API and/or API Content/Services in furtherance of or in connection with any live transaction (whether virtual or real) or any transaction with legal or other real consequences to you, your Users or any participant in the transaction, regardless of whether the data involved is Sandbox Data or was otherwise provided or furnished for use by you, your Users or your Application;
  6. attempt unauthorized access to, or use of, Praxia Bank’s services or systems;
  7. damage, disrupt, or otherwise negatively affect the operation of Praxia Bank’s services or systems;
  8. prevent any other authorized third party from using API Content;
  9. collect information about other authorized third parties who may have access to the Open API; 
  10. introduce any viruses or other malicious code, worms, defects, Trojan horses, or any other malware through your Application or your access to or use of an Open API and/or API Content/Services;
  11. use the Open API and/or API Content/Services in whole or in part for the purpose of serving as a factor in establishing an individual's eligibility for credit, employment or insurance or for any other consumer-initiated transaction as defined in any applicable law; 
  12. use the Open API in connection with an Application that offers, permits or promotes gambling within the Application and
  13. use the Open API for any purpose which is unlawful, abusive, libelous, obscene or in a manner that would to be in violation of any clearinghouse rules, payment system operating rules or similar requirements.  



Intellectual Property Rights

Praxia Bank is the owner or licensee of all Intellectual Property Rights subsisting on the APIs and this Site (including for the avoidance of doubt any comments posted by other developers on the forums) which is protected under the provisions of Greek Law. We or our licensors reserve all rights in and to the Open APIs and this Site.

You acknowledge that we are the owner or the licensee of all Intellectual Property Rights in material published on this Site. All such rights are reserved.

We exclusively retain all Intellectual Property Rights in all Open APIs, all API Services, all Documentation, the Sandbox, all Sandbox Data, all marks, and all other procedures, functionalities, software, documents, trademarks or distinctive signs, images, photographs, patents, utility and industrial models, drawings, graphics, text files, audio and video files and all other content accessible in the API Platform or in any of the Open APIs, and/or any content or service accessed through the same, and in any/all other of our intellectual properties related to API Platform and the Terms, even if such is included with, used by or incorporated into your Application in accordance with these Terms. 

Our intellectual properties may not be modified, copied, altered, reproduced, adapted or translated without express authorization from the owners of said intellectual property.

We retain the right to incorporate into the API Platform or any of the Open APIs or API Services any suggestions submitted by you. If incorporated into the API Platform, any Open API, or any API Services, such suggestions shall form part thereof and shall become our intellectual property, and we shall not be obligated to provide financial compensation to you or any other person in connection with such suggestions.

You retain all Intellectual Property Rights in your Application and you warrant that you have the Intellectual Property Rights in any content granted to, or programmed on, the API Platform by you and that such content does not violate or infringe the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party. You remain solely responsible for any such content, and Praxia Bank disclaims any and all liability for such content. You shall indemnify and hold harmless Praxia Bank from any costs or damages suffered by Praxia Bank as a result of a third party bringing or threatening any claim or action against Praxia Bank on the grounds that such content or any other material provided or used by you in connection with the API Platform infringes the Intellectual Property Rights or other rights of any third party.

If Praxia Bank is interested in the content that you have created on the API Platform, Praxia Bank may contact you in its discretion and Praxia Bank may suggest additional provisions for further evaluation of your content. 




The information provided on API Platform or in connection therewith shall not constitute any investment, legal or tax advice. Any comments are provided for informational purposes only and are given without any obligation, contractual or otherwise. No guarantee is offered as to the accuracy, completeness or appropriateness of the information or estimates relating to the API Platform or in connection therewith.

If and insofar you gain knowledge of or receive Confidential Information in connection with the API Platform, API Services/Content, Sandbox and Sandbox Data, you must treat such information with strict confidentiality and you may not disclose to third parties or to any of your employees except those employees who have a need to know the Confidential Information for accomplishing the stated purposes described herein and where such employees shall be made aware that the information is confidential and shall be under a written contractual restriction on nondisclosure and proper treatment of Confidential Information that is no less restrictive than the terms of this Clause.  

The Confidential Information shall remain our sole property. No license is granted to you under any patents, copyrights or other proprietary rights by the disclosure of any information hereunder, nor is any warranty made as to such information.  

You shall be liable under this Clause and shall indemnify Praxia Bank against any losses, costs, damages or injuries suffered by Praxia Bank or any of its personnel if you breach any provisions of this Clause. For the avoidance of doubt, any losses, costs, damages or injuries suffered by any of Praxia Bank personnel in connection with the purpose of this Clause shall be deemed as suffered by Praxia Bank and accordingly, all rights of Praxia Bank to seek remedy from you under this Clause shall be wholly and unequivocally applicable.


You agree to protect such information from unauthorized access and to treat it with the same care with which you would treat your own confidential commercial information. This duty of confidentiality shall continue to apply for five (5) years as from the moment your registration to the API Platform ceases.



Limitation of Liability

The API Platform and API Content are provided “as is” and the use of the Open API(s) is entirely on your own risk. Praxia Bank disclaims all warranties and does in particular not provide any warranty in respect to the Open API as being error free, with respect to its availability or accuracy. 

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we shall have limited liability arising from or based on your use of Open API. To the extent permitted by applicable law, this limitation of liability shall apply to prevent recovery of indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary and punitive damages, whether such claim is based on warranty, contract, tort or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. 

We make no promises or claims related to the availability or uptime of the Sandbox, Sandbox Data, API Platform and/or any API Content/Services. These Terms do not entitle you to any support for any Open API or API Content/Services. You are solely responsible for providing all support and technical assistance with regards to Open APIs use and you acknowledge and agree that we have no obligation to provide any support or technical assistance to you for the Open APIs use.

The Site may give users the option to click on links, hyperlinks or banners to be rerouted to third party websites whose content is exclusively selected by the operators of those sites. Praxia Bank cannot guarantee that those websites will be available and does not approve and is not liable for the content thereof or for whether the information there is correct, legitimate, comprehensive, up-to-date or accurate. Nor is Praxia Bank responsible for the quality and features of products or services made available by those persons via those websites. Praxia Bank is also not liable for third party websites malfunctioning or not working properly or for any loss suffered by users from accessing and using the information, services and products provided by those websites. 

The internet is not a secure environment and although Praxia Bank applies proper security measures, it cannot guarantee that Site functions will be available on an uninterrupted basis or will be free from all manner of bugs or viruses. It is not liable for any loss of data or other losses incurred by you or Users or third parties due to use/copying/downloading or corruption of data or infection with viruses or hacking of any files and information available via the Site. You or Users or third parties are exclusively responsible for protecting their own system against viruses.




To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, You, without requiring a preliminary determination of the ultimate entitlement to indemnification, shall indemnify, protect, provide a defense for, save and hold harmless Us and Our officers, directors, employees, agents, third parties, attorneys, successors, and assigns from and against any government, or other third party claim of loss, liability, penalty, assessment, civil or criminal fine, or damage to or asserted, whether through communication or formal filing, against us (including reasonable attorney's fees and expenses) related to, deriving from or associated with your Application, or any third party's use of the Application (whether in whole or in part) to access or use of Open API(s) or API Content/Services (even if such activity is fraudulent), or any third party's use of any Open API or API Content/Services (even if such activity is fraudulent), or your violation of the Terms herein. We retain the right to select any counsel to be retained by you in accordance with your provision of a defense for us. Should You recommend any such counsel, the counsel must be approved by us prior to retention. We reserve the right to defend us or hold you responsible for defending us against such claim, subject to our right to participate in such defense or settlement at our cost. You will reasonably cooperate with us in any such defense at your cost. These indemnification provisions and the rights or obligations granted by or through it are in addition to any other rights or obligations in these Terms and shall not be construed to provide an exclusive remedy.



Security and Harmful Code

You ensure that each Application contains protections that are adequate to keep secure and prevent the interception or the misrouting of any Data. You ensures that each Application receives and transmits Data with a protocol at least as secure as those being accepted by the API Platform. Secure encryption shall be applied between the communicating parties throughout the respective communication session in order to safeguard the confidentiality and the integrity of data, using strong and widely recognized encryption techniques.

You ensure that any API Credentials, issued by the Bank and included in the Application are encrypted and protected from exposure and alteration.

Without prejudice to Clause 3 you will not include (or enable or permit to be included), in or in connection with any Application, any spyware, malware, virus, worm, Trojan horse or other malicious or harmful code, or any software application not expressly and knowingly authorized by each applicable User prior to being downloaded, installed or used.




The User must also comply with the following, which are hereby incorporated by reference:

  1. The Personal Data Protection Policy
  2. The Cookies Policy

In the event of any conflict between the content of these Terms and the above policies, which are available on the Site, these Terms controls the use of the API Platform.  



Right to Terminate

We may suspend your access to API Platform or terminate your registration without notice, in our sole discretion, and without liability for such suspension or termination, upon: (i) information or belief that you, your Application or others have accessed an API or API Content/Services other than your Open API(s) or API Content/Services; (ii) breach or threatened breach of the licenses set forth in these Terms (including but not limited to the Documentation) and/or the restrictions therein; (iii) as recommended or required to comply with any applicable law or regulation; or (iv) you have not accessed the Sandbox or actively worked with the Open APIs in the Sandbox for a period of three (3) months. We may otherwise terminate your registration with or without cause upon fifteen (15) days prior written notice. You may terminate your registration by notifying us in writing fifteen (15) calendar days in advance via e-mail sent to "openapi@praxiabank.com". In the event of a termination by either party, you agree to cease using all Open APIs accessed pursuant to these Terms, promptly (but under any circumstances in no more than two (2) business days) remove the Open API and API Content/Services from your Application and delete any API Content/Services you possess or control.



General Provisions

If you do not accept these Terms in full, you may not access or use the Open API or API Content/Services.

The Terms, which includes the documents referenced herein, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes any and all other proposals and agreements (oral or written) between the parties related to your access to or use of Open API(s) and/or API Content/Services within or through the Sandbox and/or using Sandbox Data. To the extent these Terms conflicts with another agreement between you and us related to the licensing, access and/or use of Open API(s) and/or API Content/Services outside the Sandbox and/or in the context of live, actionable data and/or real transactions, such other agreement will govern.

Users of this Site are obliged to comply with the provisions and regulations contained in Greek, European and international law, and the relevant telecommunications legislation, and to refrain from any illegal or abusive conduct when using this website or in relation to use hereof, and from adopting unfair competition and other illegal practices. Users of this Site are responsible for any harm to the API Platform due to improper or unlawful use of the Site or the services offered via it. If Praxia Bank is involved in any litigation or is required to pay any type of compensation as a result of users violating their obligations contained in the Terms, users shall be obliged to indemnify the Bank on these grounds.     

Should any provision of these Terms be or become invalid, the validity of the Terms as a whole shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision must be replaced by a valid provision within the context of the remaining contractual interpretation which corresponds to the economic intent and purpose of these rules as a whole. 

Nothing in these Terms will be construed as creating a partnership, franchise, agency, fiduciary, employment or joint venture relationship of any kind between the parties, and neither you nor we will have the authority to bind the other party or to contract in the name of or create a liability against the other party in performing its obligations or exercising its rights under these Terms.

You may not assign, transfer or permit the exercise by any other party of your rights under these Terms. We may subcontract, assign or novate these Terms or any of our rights to any third party.  



Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Greece and the Courts of Athens will have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute, which may arise.
